We transform HubSpot into a strategic, friction-free operating system that unlocks efficiency and growth for professional services firms.
Brightlark works with consulting, agency, advisory, and other professional services firms to reduce admin drag, improve visibility, strengthen handoffs, and scale without adding overhead. We do that by helping firms design and optimize HubSpot for the way the business actually operates—across marketing, sales, and service. Not how the onboarding wizard suggests, but how the firm truly runs.
Why Brightlark exists?
Professional services firms tend to hit the same wall at a similar point in their growth.
They win more work, and the team works harder. Documentation gets skipped due to a lack of time. HubSpot gets messy without an owner. Reporting becomes harder to trust because the data was never clean. Client handoffs depend on whoever has the best memory that week. The business is busier than ever but somehow less profitable, less visible, and harder to manage than before.
We call this the Capacity Trap.
Brightlark helps professional services firms escape that trap by making HubSpot a cleaner operating system for marketing, sales, service, and growth. The goal is not more tools but less friction. The way forward starts by knowing where friction lives, which the Brightlark story reveals.

HubSpot systems design
From visibility to operational clarity.
Brightlark was founded in 2004 with a straightforward goal: to help smaller firms compete by improving their prominence and demand. Early on, that meant search, digital marketing, content, and paid media — channels that guaranteed measurable growth and clearer returns on investment.
The underlying assumption seemed logical enough: more visibility creates more leads, more leads create more growth, and more growth creates a better business. For a while, it held. Then it didn't.
We helped clients generate more traffic and leads, but many still found it difficult to connect that activity to important business results. More activity created more complexity, and teams became overwhelmed. The marketing was working, but the firm was still grinding. The issue was not marketing performance but functional clarity. Better campaigns were not going to fix it.
Today, Brightlark helps professional services firms use HubSpot as the operating system for a more Frictionless Firm — where demand is captured cleanly, sales are visible, closed-won work moves smoothly to delivery, and growth opportunities don't fall through the cracks.
Built by specialists.
Designed for professional services.
Brightlark was founded by Matt Walde in 2004 and has grown into a focused team of HubSpot specialists and operations consultants with deep roots in professional services.
Matt brings more than 20 years of experience across digital marketing, HubSpot implementation, sales operations, and revenue systems design. His work spans hundreds of engagements with attorneys, accountants, consultants, financial advisors, and other professional services firms — with a consistent focus on the operational systems that determine whether growth creates leverage or just more overhead.
Our team unites expertise in HubSpot implementation, marketing, sales and service operations, workflow automation, and reporting with a common belief: the best CRM configuration is the one the team actually uses and trusts. Every engagement is staffed with the right experience for the work at hand. No generic templates. No junior-layer interpretation.
Matt is based in Denver, Colorado. Outside of work, you'll find Matt at youth soccer pitches or baseball diamonds watching his two boys. In his free time, Matt likes to spend time on the golf course or in the kitchen, though both are very much works in progress.

A few practical beliefs that guide our work.
Growth should create leverage, not drag
Winning more work should not automatically mean more manual follow-up, spreadsheets, and pressure on the same few people. If it does, the operating system is not keeping up.
Handoffs should be designed, not improvised
Marketing-to-sales, sales-to-service, and service-to-growth transitions are where context often gets lost, and the cost of that loss is highest. Those moments need structure, not heroics.
Reporting should reflect reality, not wishful thinking
Dashboards are useful only when the underlying process and data are reliable. A clean-looking report built on messy data is just a polished form of guessing.
Automation should reduce friction, not hide complexity
Workflows should make work clearer and easier to manage. When they become a confusing layer of operational debt that no one fully understands, they cross from solution to problem.
HubSpot should reflect how the firm actually operates
A generic CRM setup is rarely enough. HubSpot should support how your firm captures demand, sells work, serves clients, and drives future growth, not how someone assumed it would.
What makes us different is how we think before we build.
HubSpot depth
Brightlark has been a HubSpot Partner since 2013 and was the first in Denver. We've seen the platform evolve through every major iteration — and we know which parts create leverage and which parts create complexity when misconfigured.
Professional services focus
We work exclusively with firms that sell expertise, projects, retainers, and advisory services. The operating challenges of an accounting firm or consulting practice differ from those of an e-commerce brand, and we don't treat them the same way.
Operating-system mindset
We work to understand how your business operates before configuring anything. The system should reflect your reality, not a generic template that works for a hypothetical firm but creates friction for yours.
"I have been so impressed with this team and the quality of work they have consistently produced. I appreciate that everyone at the company is willing to jump in and have strategic conversations with me about the hows and whys of my efforts."
"What won me over with Brightlark was the care they took in our interactions; they truly cared about my understanding of what they presented and helped set me on a path to success."
"They don't just throw tactics at the wall. They take the time to understand our goals and develop a strategy that gets us there. The best part? Their work speaks for itself. We've seen a serious boost in revenue growth, and everyone in the company is taking notice."
If it's not a fit, you pay nothing.
Brightlark engagements are designed to create clarity, reduce friction, and help your team move forward with confidence.
If, within the first 30 days, you believe the work is not a fit, we will refund the engagement in full.
No questions asked. No fine print.

Better systems create better outcomes for people.
Brightlark has supported organizations working in education, hunger relief, youth services, and college access across Colorado.
This community work reflects the same belief that guides everything else we do: better systems create better outcomes for people. That applies to how a professional services firm manages its operations. It also applies to how a community supports the people who need it most.
Ready to find the friction in your firm?
If HubSpot feels harder to manage than it should, the issue is probably not effort. It is friction, and friction has a specific address. You just need to know where to look.
